Description:
Surveying, engineering and construction of
a 220m concrete bridge on the Warrar River
in the center of Ramadi, 80 kilometers west
of Baghdad. The bridge contains 9 concrete
prestressed girders measuring 24 meters each.
The University of Baghdad and the University
of Ramadi performed quality control functions
while The National State laboratory was responsible
for all field and laboratory tests.
Staff details: A site office with
highly experienced engineers and technicians
managed site activities. Outside Iraq, our
offices supported the project by purchasing
equipment, and the Baghdad HQ supported administrative
and correspondence functions. The site staff
was mainly from the local area to encourage
employment in the conflict affected area.
A total of 18 engineers, 45 technicians and
10 administrative personnel covered project
activities.
